OVERVIEW Size: 555 x 380, ii + 168 paper folios; two modern pencil foliations with folio 2 now missing; blank folios separate the masses other than filled in folios 87v-88r. Scribe: several hands from the Alamire workshop contributed to the 's HerAB 72A-C mini-complex. Place and Brief History: Brussels/Mechelen; possibly a commission from the Confraternity of Our Illustrious Lady. Date: early 1530s Covers and Decoration: Brown leather with blind-tooled lozenge design, calligraphic initials for all pages opening sections and sub sections of the masses and for the motet; brass buckles and clasps.
